It remains the lowest-friction way to put AI in the IDE and in GitHub, and base prices have not moved: Pro at $10 a month, Pro+ at $39 and Max at $100. What this sweep adds over the previous one is two things checked against the official documentation. First, sign-ups for the individual plans have been paused since 1 June with no later notice reopening them, so a buyer may find they cannot subscribe at all. Second, the Opus models left Pro, and anyone who stayed on a legacy annual plan gets no new models or features.

Tabnine is the rare case of a tool that changed buyer without changing name. It started on Hacker News on 6 November 2018 as predictive autocomplete, with 607 points, and for years it sold a cheap individual plan that the specialist press put on record: InfoWorld published in August 2024 «Tabnine Basic: free» and «Tabnine Pro: $12/user/month». None of that is on sale today. The pricing page publishes two plans, $39 and $59 per user per month on an annual subscription, with no free plan, no trial and the same button on both, «Get a quote». The add-ons a developer would install are already marked legacy: the VS Code one is titled «(Legacy) Tabnine» with 9.6 million cumulative installs, and the JetBrains one carries the manufacturer's own notice, «Tabnine does not onboard new users to this plugin». What still stands is a department argument rather than a personal one: deployment on a private cloud, on your own machines or fully air-gapped, with the literal promise «We never retain any code on our servers» and its own models trained only on permissively licensed code. The anger of the old plan's users is dated on the JetBrains marketplace and is the harshest part of the file. And there is a fact from four days ago worth weighing: on 30 July 2026 Tricentis bought the company.
