Why look for a Lovable alternative

No dated fact this week moves an axis. The price is still only readable via third-party sources: the official pricing page, checked byte by byte today, still has not one figure in the served HTML, and the sources that do cite one keep the entry plan at $25 a month, consistent with the catalogue. The official changelog brings new connectors but all dated between 25 and 31 July, already counted last week, and there is no entry between 1 and 6 August. Three minor infrastructure outages hit this week, none long or repeated enough to count as a sustained drop.

What its own users repeat in the August 6, 2026 sweep:

  • The bill still cannot be forecast: it publishes example per-message costs, but a credit is not worth the same on every plan, it expires depending on the plan and is non-refundable, and the same balance pays for building the app and for keeping it running (strong theme)
  • The record of security scares is long and the latest one is signed by the company itself: between February and April 2026 the chat and code of public projects were reachable by any user with the link, though private ones and its cloud were not affected (strong theme)
  • What comes out fast does not always come out well made, and its own meter hides it: a site scoring top accessibility in the tool fails with a real screen reader (present theme)
  • Getting out of its cloud is not solved: removing it permanently deletes the instance with no undo, and there is no supported migration to your own database (present theme)
  • The price cannot be read on the pricing page: the served HTML contains no figure at all and the tariff lives in a code bundle the browser runs, with the currency resolved on the client (present theme)

What the internet says about each alternative

v0 3.7/5 · Free + from $30

The entry price stays at $30 per user per month, confirmed today on the official page and its pricing docs. The changelog has nothing new since 31 July and Hacker News has not published a single story about v0 in the last two weeks. The only movement is a clarification from support itself, on 4 August, confirming that Free plan credits do not roll over month to month.

Where it wins: The fit with Vercel deployment and with external services has grown, and since 21 July 2026 the Shopify integration is open to every user Where it slips: The consumption credit system keeps generating threads on the official forum, with loops that eat the balance, credits expiring sooner than expected and unexpected charges

Replit 3.5/5 · Free + from $20

The entry price stays at $20 a month with annual billing, confirmed today from the Stripe data embedded in the page itself: the $25 shown struck through is the no-commitment monthly price, not a hike. What has genuinely dropped, since 1 August 2026, is the cost of cloud infrastructure: autoscale compute goes from $3.20 to $0.60 per million units and database storage from $1.50 to $0.35 per gigabyte a month, among other cuts reaching every plan. The underlying problem stays the same: the agent's effort-based billing hands you the bill after it is spent, and the public complaints record keeps piling up unanswered billing cases.

Where it wins: Everything in the browser with nothing to install: agent, design, database, publishing and domain in one place Where it slips: Effort-based billing means you learn what a request costs once it is already spent, and the public complaints record shows bills far above the contracted subscription

Bolt.new 3.1/5 · Free + from $25

The entry price stays at $25 a month, confirmed today straight from the official page's raw HTML. What has changed is the engine: on 3 August Bolt retired the v1 Agent and Discussion Mode, auto-migrating every old project to the current agent without touching files or chat history, though the choice between the Standard and Max tiers still stands. Since 6 August an unresolved incident has left project publishing stuck.

Where it wins: Everything happens in the browser with nothing to install, including private projects, hosting and a database Where it slips: Token burn dominates the complaints: a good share goes into fixing the agent's own errors and the free daily cap runs out before a first build finishes
