Our verdict
Knowt is the strongest-value Quizlet alternative: it allows substantial creation and practice for free and accepts several source types. As with any generation from notes, answers must be checked before memorising them.
Best for: Students wanting cards and tests from their own material on a zero budget.

What the internet says
Knowt stays flat this week: the App Store still sits at 4.7 but now counts 10,299 ratings versus 10,252 in the previous read, and the Chrome extension for importing Quizlet decks repeats 4.9 across close to 1,900 ratings and more than 100,000 users. The pricing page confirms the same unchanged Ultra plan at $24.99 a month or $149.99 a year ($12.49/month). The help center shows a free trial does exist, with a dedicated article on cancelling it in three self-service steps from account settings without contacting support, though the pricing page still does not state how long it lasts, which contradicts the listing's freeTrial field and is worth a review. The product page adds that Kai, its AI helper, explains why you got a practice question wrong instead of just handing over the correct answer.
What the web repeats in favour
- 4.7 across roughly 10,299 App Store ratings
- The Chrome extension for importing Quizlet decks scores 4.9 across close to 1,900 ratings and more than 100,000 users
- The privacy policy explicitly states it does not use Google data to develop, improve or train AI models
- Kai, Knowt's AI helper, explains why you got a practice question wrong instead of just handing over the correct answer
- Cancelling the free trial or the Ultra subscription takes three steps in the web settings, without needing to contact support
What the web repeats against
- Three independent reviews put the accuracy of AI-generated flashcards and summaries at around 90%, needing manual review
- Knowt's own COPPA notice admits a minor's created content and profile information can be shared with or disclosed to other Knowt users depending on privacy settings, and that outside school use a minor must set up the account through an existing Google account
- The help center confirms with a dedicated article that a free trial does exist before the first Ultra charge, but the pricing page still does not state its exact length, and the tool listing's freeTrial field says the opposite
