Our verdict

Our verdict · By Serchai

Holded combines invoicing, accounting, CRM and inventory for Spanish SMBs, with AI-assisted capture, detection and reconciliation inside the workflow. The published standard price for Plus starts at EUR 15 per month. It is built for Spanish invoicing, so it loses its main advantage outside Spain.

Best for: Spanish freelancers and SMBs wanting whole management in one place with less paperwork.

What the internet says

An interface you can run without prior experience, and the whole small-business cycle in one place, tuned to Spanish rules: that is what accountants and users keep repeating. The same two complaints hold: support feels slow, and the entry price misleads, because the 15 € Plus plan is before VAT and stock, point of sale, payroll or SII tax reporting are paid as separate modules. This week brought no recorded outages and no price or deadline change: the Verifactu deadline still stands at January and July 2027.

What the web repeats in favour

  • Modern, intuitive interface: usable with no prior invoicing software experience
  • The whole cycle in one place (invoicing, accounting, CRM, inventory), tuned to Spanish rules
  • Accounting automation and bank reconciliation save hours every month, according to firms that use it daily
  • Fourteen-day trial with no card, stated literally on the official site

What the web repeats against

  • Support seen as slow at peak times, admitted even by its own partners
  • Real cost runs well above the entry price: stock, point of sale, payroll and SII tax reporting are billed as separate modules and published figures exclude VAT
  • For a freelancer who only needs to invoice it is oversized, because it is a full ERP and is priced like one
  • The annual price cannot be checked from outside: the site only serves monthly rates and the annual cycle is drawn in the browser

Pros / Cons

Pros

  • The SMB's whole management cycle in one platform
  • Assisted document digitization and reconciliation
  • Built for Spanish invoicing regulation

Cons

  • Built for the Spanish market: less fit elsewhere
  • Advanced features demand higher plans

TLDR: Holded joins what a Spanish SMB used to keep in four places: invoicing, accounting, CRM and inventory, with AI-assisted capture, detection and reconciliation. Plus starts at the published standard price of EUR 15 per month. Spain is its home market, and that specialisation is both its strength and its boundary.

What Holded is and how it works

Holded is the cloud answer to the SMB’s typical administrative chaos: invoices in a template, accounting at the external bookkeeper, clients in a spreadsheet and inventory in someone’s head. The platform joins those pieces into a system where the issued invoice is already booked, the digitized expense is already categorized and the results report exists without being built.

The AI works inside the flow, not as decoration: photographed or forwarded receipts and invoices get digitized with their data extracted and category proposed, bank reconciliation suggests the matches between movements and documents, and the system learns from your corrections.

For the Spanish market it adds what is invisible from outside: adaptation to e-invoicing regulation and its timelines, the detail that will decide platform choices over the coming years.

What it is like day to day

The operational change is one of friction: the invoice issues in a minute from anywhere, the lunch receipt gets photographed on the spot (and stops getting lost), and “how are we doing this month?” has an answer on a dashboard instead of in a call to the bookkeeper.

Assisted reconciliation is where it returns the most hours: bank movements arrive connected and the system proposes their documentary match, so the monthly review drops from a whole afternoon to a stretch of confirming and correcting. Corrections teach the system, and month two proposes better than month one.

The relationship with the external accountant changes shape rather than disappearing: the adviser accesses ordered data instead of receiving the quarterly shoebox, and their time (and invoice) concentrates on the tax judgment that is genuinely their craft.

Pricing and plans

Plus starts at the published standard price of EUR 15 per month, with higher tiers adding invoicing, accounting, CRM, projects, inventory and team features. Temporary promotions are not a sound annual-cost estimate. Use the trial to test the real workflow before subscribing.

The SMB math is direct: the basic plan costs less than half an hour of outsourced bookkeeping, and the real saving is the own hours paperwork stopped eating. The tier decision is best made after the trial, measuring which modules you actually use.

Who it is for (and who it is not for)

Holded is for Spanish freelancers and SMBs who want administration in one place and less paperwork: the profile that invoices, carries expenses, and today loses hours typing and chasing documents. Also for anyone wanting to work better with their existing accountant without replacing them.

It is not for companies outside the Spanish market (its regulatory adaptation is local) nor for a large company’s complex accounting needs, where corporate systems still rule. For pure document capture at maximum precision feeding another system, Dext is the specialist piece.

Holded alternatives

Dext is the capture specialist when you already have an accounting system and just want to stop typing. For the assistant answering staff’s administrative questions, Tidio covers another corner of the same problem. The full ranking is at accounting and admin.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does it handle mandatory e-invoicing?

It is adapted to Spanish e-invoicing regulation and its timelines: that is central to its offer. As with any regulatory obligation, verify in its documentation that it covers the specific requirement applying to you.

Does it replace the external accountant?

It changes the division: the platform does the mechanical part (digitizing, ordering, reconciling) and the accountant keeps the tax judgment and the filings. Most businesses work better and cheaper with both than with either alone.

How good is the receipt digitization?

Good with legible documents: photo in, data extracted with a proposed category. Crumpled or blurry receipts demand manual correction, and the system learns from those corrections.

Does it work outside Spain?

It can invoice in several languages and currencies, but its regulatory adaptation and ecosystem are Spanish. Outside that market, each country’s local alternatives usually fit better.
