Our verdict
QuickBooks Online has the broadest ecosystem for a US small business. Accounting AI categorises, explains and helps reconcile transactions, but starts with Essentials and advanced reconciliation needs a higher tier. It is not designed for Spanish tax or invoicing rules.
Best for: US small businesses that value ecosystem and integration over the lowest price.
What the internet says
Intuit documents Accounting AI from Essentials and advanced AI reconciliation on Plus or Advanced. The relevant standard price begins at $75 per month. Introductory promotions are excluded. We do not yet claim recurring review patterns for this new profile.

Pros / Cons
Pros
- Broad US ecosystem
- Accounting AI inside the ledger
- Accountant access
Cons
- Accounting AI starts at $75 per month
- Price rises with each module
- Not built for Spanish compliance
Bottom line: QuickBooks Online is the US benchmark for ecosystem breadth. Accounting AI starts with Essentials at the standard price of $75 per month. Advanced AI reconciliation requires a higher tier.
What the AI does
Accounting AI analyses transactions, proposes categories, explains discrepancies and assists reconciliation. Intuit Intelligence lets a user query business data inside the product. These features work on the ledger rather than behaving like a disconnected chatbot.
QuickBooks also handles invoicing, bills, expenses, accountant access and US workflows such as sales tax and 1099s, depending on plan. Its adviser and integration network remains the practical reason many businesses choose it over a newer product.
Real price
The published standard price for Essentials is $75 per month. Simple Start is cheaper but does not have the same Accounting AI scope. Advanced AI reconciliation is restricted to Plus or Advanced. Introductory discounts should not be used to estimate the annual cost.
When to choose it
Choose QuickBooks if the company operates in the United States, needs a system most accountants already know and relies on several integrations. Xero is the more balanced alternative for price and collaboration. Zoho Books wins when budget or the wider Zoho suite matters. Digits is the more AI-first choice.
Do not choose the US edition for a Spanish company expecting local tax submissions or VeriFactu support.
The limitation
Cost expands through tiers, users, payroll and add-ons. Several capabilities that look like part of “QuickBooks” are not in the entry tier. Compare the complete workflow price, not the front-page promotion.
